Warranty
At Stara, we stand behind the quality of our jewellery. The following warranty terms apply to eligible purchases.
1. Certified Centre Diamond Lifetime Warranty
All certified centre diamonds include a lifetime warranty covering verified manufacturing defects or authenticity issues related to the original stone.
This warranty does not cover:
- Loss, theft, or disappearance
- Cracking, chipping, breakage, or impact damage
- Damage caused by misuse, accidents, or negligence
- Normal wear or natural characteristics of the diamond
- Damage after third-party repair or alteration
Stara reserves the right to inspect the diamond before approving any claim.
2. Metal Limited Warranty
All ring settings, bands, and metal components include a limited warranty covering manufacturing defects and structural integrity under normal use.
Examples of covered issues may include:
- Faulty workmanship
- Defective solder joints
- Structural issues caused by manufacturing defects
This warranty does not cover:
- Loss or breakage caused by accidents
- Bent prongs from impact
- Scratches, dents, fading, plating wear, or cosmetic damage
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by chemicals, misuse, or improper care
- Damage after third-party repair or resizing
3. Resizing & Unauthorized Work
Complimentary resizing benefits, where offered, are valid only when completed by Stara or an authorized service provider.
Any third-party repair, resizing, modification, or alteration immediately voids:
- Diamond lifetime warranty
- Metal limited warranty
- Complimentary resizing benefits.
Making a warranty claim
To make a warranty claim, contact us within a reasonable time of noticing the issue at hello@staradesigns.ca with the following:
- Your name and original order details
- A clear description of the issue
- Clear photographs showing the issue
We will assess your claim and respond within 5 business days. If the defect falls within warranty, we will arrange repair or replacement at no charge to you, and cover return shipping of the piece back to you.
Damaged in Transit
All Stara shipments are fully insured. In the unlikely event that your piece arrives visibly damaged, please follow these steps immediately — do not discard anything:
- Do not discard the outer packaging or any internal packaging materials
- Photograph the packaging as received — before opening further — and then photograph the piece itself
- Contact us within 48 hours of confirmed delivery at hello@staradesigns.ca or +1 778 538 9711
- Do not take the piece to a third-party jeweller before contacting us — this may affect your claim
Transit damage claims must be reported within 48 hours of the confirmed delivery timestamp.
