We take great care to confirm your ring size before production begins — and we'd always rather spend extra time getting it right than rush. But fingers change. Weight fluctuates. A surprise proposal means the size was estimated. Seasons affect how rings fit. We get it.
That's why every Stara piece includes one complimentary professional resize within the first year of ownership. No awkward conversations. No fees. Just a properly fitting ring.
For every bespoke piece, we confirm your ring size as part of the design approval process. This benefit exists as a safety net — not an expectation that your piece will need resizing. Most don't. But the option is there for you.
Step by step
How to use your free resizing.
Contact us first
Reach out to us at hello@staradesigns.ca or +1 778 538 9711 to let us know you'd like to use your resize benefit. Tell us your current size, your desired size, and we'll confirm everything before anything is sent.
Do this before sending your ring — we want to confirm availability and provide any specific packaging instructions first.
Know your new size
If you're unsure of your new or correct size, refer to our Ring Size Guide for measurement methods. You can also visit any local jeweller for a quick measure — this doesn't void any warranty, as no work is being performed on your piece. Just a measurement.
Send your ring to our Kelowna atelier
Package your ring securely — use the original Stara box if available, or a padded jewellery pouch inside a small rigid box. Ship it to us using a tracked, insured courier service of your choice.
Ship to: Stara Designs, 1771 Cooper Rd, Unit #1, Kelowna, BC V1Y 7T1. Please insure the parcel for the full replacement value of your piece. Stara is not responsible for loss or damage in transit to our atelier.
We resize and inspect your piece
Once we receive your ring, we'll resize it professionally — and take the opportunity to inspect the setting, prongs, and overall condition of your piece. You'll receive confirmation when it's received and when work is complete.
Turnaround time is typically 3–7 business days depending on workload. We'll give you an estimate when you contact us.
Arrange pickup or return shipping
Once your ring is ready, you arrange collection in person from our Kelowna atelier or return shipping at your cost. We'll notify you as soon as it's ready to go. Please use a tracked and insured courier for return shipping — just as you did when sending it to us.

Your one-year free resizing and professional cleaning window starts from the date of confirmed delivery or in-person collection.
First few months
Wear it. Enjoy it. See how it fits.
Give yourself time to settle into wearing your piece before requesting a resize. Fingers fluctuate — a ring that feels slightly different in winter may feel perfect in spring.
Anytime within 12 months
Use your free resize if needed.
Contact us to use your complimentary resize. One use per piece within the first year. Client covers shipping in both directions.
Anytime within 12 months
Use your free professional cleaning.

After 12 months
Benefits expire — but we're still here.
After your first year, resizing and cleaning services are available at standard service rates. Contact us for a quote. We recommend a setting check every 12–18 months regardless.
What's covered
What the free resize includes — and what it doesn't.
Included
- One professional ring resizing — up or down in size
- Visual inspection of prongs and setting during the process
- Light polish of the band as part of the resize service
- Notification upon receipt and upon completion
- Applicable to all Stara ring purchases within the first year
Not included
- Shipping costs in either direction — client's responsibility
- Second or subsequent resize requests after the first is used
- Requests made after 12 months from delivery date
- Resizing following third-party work on the piece
- Repair of damage unrelated to the resize — quoted separately
Critical to know
One rule that protects your entire benefit and warranty.
If your ring is resized, repaired, polished, or worked on in any way by any jeweller or party other than Stara Designs, your free resizing benefit and your entire warranty — including the lifetime diamond warranty and metal warranty — are immediately and permanently voided. There are no exceptions to this rule.
This rule exists to protect both you and the integrity of your piece. Any work carried out on your piece by an unknown party changes conditions in ways we cannot verify. We cannot honour warranty claims on work we didn't do.
If your ring needs any attention — a loose stone, a scratch you'd like addressed, a minor repair — please contact us first. We will always advise you honestly on what's needed and what it involves. And in most cases, if something goes wrong with our work, it's covered under your warranty at no cost.

We understand it's sometimes tempting to pop into a local jeweller for a quick fix. We'd just ask that you reach out to us first — even if it's just a two-minute conversation. We're here, we're easy to reach, and we'd rather keep your piece in perfect hands than have a small issue turn into a bigger one.
